Job summary

Space Machine & Engineering Corp. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector to verify assemblies and components using precision tools and CMM equipment.

You will interpret GD&T, ensure conformance to prints and flow downs, document results, and collaborate with operations to preempt nonconformances. The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on inspection experience, proficiency with CMMs, and knowledge of AS9100/ITAR.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical inspection experience.
• Proficiency programming and operating CMM equipment.
• Strong command of GD&T and the ability to interpret complex drawings.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (electronic height gauges, calipers, gauge pins, etc.).
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, CUI, CMMC, DPAS, and DFARS.
• Proven multitasking ability with attention to detail and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical assemblies and sub-components using precision tools (e.g., height gauges, calipers, gauges, microscopes).
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T, including tolerances and functional requirements.
• Verify dimensions against prints and flow downs; document results and escalate issues promptly.
• Partner daily with operations to ensure products meet requirements before they move forward.
• Operate equipment safely per SME standards; maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Compile all required production and quality paperwork; generate customer-ready digital documentation packages.
