Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. seeks a dependable janitorial associate to perform cleaning tasks across assigned facilities. Responsibilities include high dusting, sanitizing surfaces, bathroom cleaning, trash removal, floor care, and grounds upkeep.

You will follow safety procedures, use appropriate chemicals per MSDS, and maintain a clean, orderly environment. Applicants should be able to lift up to 30 lbs, operate cleaning equipment, and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Qualifications

• Basic operations of janitorial work.
• Basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Basic safe work practices.
• The use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• High dusting of surfaces above shoulder height with a high duster.
• Sanitizing surfaces below shoulder height and spot cleaning fingerprints.
• Bathroom cleaning with germicidal solution in prescribed order.
• Empty trash cans, wipe cans and replace liners.
• Dust mop and vacuum floors; clean under furniture.
• Care for outdoor areas: empty ash urns, police sidewalks and benches.
• Clean public common areas; ensure glass is clean and planters are tidy.
• Clean and sanitize food court tables, remove trash and wash trays.
• Floor sanitizing with germicidal solution and proper technique.
• Inspect room and report issues to supervisor; routine checks of lobby areas.
