Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking a diligent janitorial worker to perform a variety of cleaning activities across assigned facilities, keeping areas clean, sanitary and orderly.

The role covers high dusting, sanitizing, bathroom cleaning, trash removal, floor care, grounds maintenance, and public area upkeep, with attention to safety and proper chemical handling. Must follow instructions and maintain courteous customer relations.

Qualifications

• Basic operations of janitorial work.
• Basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Basic safe work practices.
• The use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• High Dusting around the room, cleaning surfaces above shoulder height.
• Sanitizing surfaces below shoulder height and removing fingerprints on doorknobs and walls.
• Bathroom cleaning including toilet and soap dispenser checks.
• Emptying trash cans and replacing liners as needed.
• Floor dusting or vacuuming with proper technique and cleaning under furniture.
• Grounds care including outdoor areas and keeping sidewalks and benches clean.
• Public common areas maintenance: dust mopping, window cleaning, planter care and cobweb removal.
• Food court cleanliness: sanitizing tables, removing trash, cleaning trays and outside areas.
• Floor sanitizing starting from back of room and moving toward exit.
