Job summary

TPI Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Grinder to operate grinding equipment and remove cosmetic defects from castings before they enter machining. You will inspect castings, document quality issues, maintain tools and PPE, and follow all safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.

This position requires a High School diploma or GED and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks; prior grinding or foundry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Relevant manufacturing or industrial work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and industrial equipment.
• Ability to identify and communicate casting defects and quality issues.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Previous grinding, casting, foundry, or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect castings for defects prior to grinding.
• Operate grinding equipment to remove cosmetic defects and produce the required finish.
• Identify casting defects and bring them to the supervisor's attention for corrective action.
• Ensure castings meet quality standards before entering the machining area.
• Maintain grinding machinery, patterns, hand tools, and other equipment in good working condition.
• Safely operate hand and power tools, machinery, forklifts, semi-automated material-handling equipment, and overhead cranes.
• Wear all required PPE and follow company safety procedures.
• Participate in required training and continuing education.
• Work overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
