Job summary

Eaton in Sumter, SC is seeking a Mission Critical Bus Assembler to assemble switchboard components from blueprints and diagrams. You will work with a team to meet safety, quality, delivery and productivity goals in a Monday–Friday schedule 6:00am–2:30pm.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, using hand tools and measuring devices, participating in 5S and safety practices, and cross-training for other roles while maintaining quality and leaning processes in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams or drawings.
• Experience with measuring devices (e.g., tape measure and calipers).
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit; candidates must reside within 50-mile radius of Sumter facility.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration or related programs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal bus bars and switchboard components from diagrams/blueprints.
• Use hand tools and measuring devices to accurately install material per procedures.
• Identify missing parts and communicate shortages; maintain project progress.
• Perform root cause analysis to address quality or production issues and contribute to process improvements.
• Conduct visual quality inspections and follow 5S and safety policies; participate in cross-training as needed.
