Job summary

Eaton Corporation is hiring a Mission Critical Bus Assembler in Sumter, SC. The role runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and involves assembling switchboard metal bus bars per diagrams and blueprints, using hand tools, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

You will work with a team to achieve on-time production, communicate shortages, and participate in Lean processes while maintaining a strong safety culture in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex assembly operations or assembly requiring drawings or diagrams.
• Experience with measuring devices (e.g., tape measure and calipers).
• Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, or operating instructions.
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Refer to diagrams and blueprints to assemble and install metal bus bars and other internal components of a switchboard.
• Use hand tools and a tape measure to measure and install material per procedures.
• Monitor progress and communicate issues like part shortages; identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Ensure quality through visual inspections and troubleshooting nonconforming parts.
• Maintain safety and 5S, and cross-train as needed.
