Job summary

Aerotek in Lexington, VA is seeking a Brazing and Mechanical Assembly Technician to assemble metal parts and perform brazing for heat transfer products. You will follow blueprints, use a braze torch, and inspect workmanship to meet production standards.

The role requires attention to detail, safe operation of brazing equipment, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a team. Contract to hire, onsite in Lexington, VA.

Qualifications

• Hands-on brazing experience using a braze torch and BCUP 5 rod.
• Safe, correct use of Stay-Silv Brazing Flux.
• Ability to braze 180/360 degree joints with a torch.
• Braze brass fittings to copper with consistent quality.
• Mechanical assembly of metal components and fittings.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and production documents.
• Work with tape measures and basic math for measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and product quality.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Follow written and verbal work instructions and safety rules.
• Work well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal components following specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Perform brazing operations using torch, rod, and flux.
• Brazing headers and manifolds both on and off line with proper joint quality.
• Braise brass fittings to copper and perform 180/360 degree joints.
• Inspect parts and assemblies for quality and adherence to standards.
• Read basic blueprints and production documents; apply simple arithmetic.
• Use hand and power tools safely; measure with tape and calipers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area per policy.
• Follow safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines at all times.
• Meet daily production and quality goals with consistent workmanship.
• Report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly to supervision.
• Work independently and as part of a production team.
