Job summary

General ThermoDynamics is seeking a Brake Press Operator at the Iron Ridge facility to set up and run brake presses, ensuring quality parts for heat exchanger production. You will read blueprints, select tooling, and document production data while maintaining safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years preferred brake press or fabrication equipment experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and precision measuring tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• High attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate brake press equipment to bend, form, and straighten metal sheets and related components.
• Select tooling, die, and machine settings based on work orders and material specs.
• Perform first-piece inspections and adjust settings to meet dimensional requirements.
• Use MES digital workstation to start jobs and maintain production records.
• Read blueprints and travelers; inspect parts with calipers, gauges, and protractors.
• Document part counts and production data; report non-conforming materials or machine issues.
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout and PPE; keep a clean 5S workspace.
• Support cross-functional teams with material staging, movement, and inventory accuracy.
• Participate in continuous improvement to reduce scrap and improve quality.
