Job summary

IES is seeking a Press Brake Operator to operate and maintain brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal components according to engineering specifications. This role requires precision, safety, and quality focus in a manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates will read blueprints, use measuring tools, and work both independently and as part of a team on a fast-paced line, with opportunities to contribute to high-quality fabrication across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating a brake press or working in metal fabrication preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and written instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of safety protocols related to manufacturing and machine operation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate brake press machines according to job specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production drawings.
• Ensure proper alignment and positioning of metal parts before bending or forming.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain precision and quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
• Communicate any equipment malfunctions or production issues to the supervisor.
• Assist with material handling and other fabrication tasks as needed.
