Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking a Brake Press Operator to set up, operate, and maintain brake press equipment on our Michigan manufacturing floor. You will read blueprints, install tooling, load parts, and ensure safety devices are functional while producing high-quality parts.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred certifications in brake press operations, and at least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and work instructions.
• Set up tooling in the brake press to meet job specifications.
• Load parts and ensure proper alignment.
• Operate the press safely and according to specifications.
• Understand press brake pendants and tooling.
• Maintain safety devices and PPE compliance.
• Support lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate across teams and maintain 5S standards.
• Willingness to obtain overhead crane permit as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
• Set up tooling in the brake press to meet job specifications.
• Load parts into the brake press and ensure proper alignment.
• Operate the press according to specifications and requirements.
• Understand the functionality of the press brake pendant.
• Ensure the press brake operates safely and all safety devices are functional.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.
• Support and promote the company’s mission, vision, and values in daily activities.
• Maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including adherence to 5S standards.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, external regulations, and legal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
