Job summary

The Brake Operator at IES is responsible for operating and maintaining brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal components per engineering specs. The role requires precision, adherence to safety and quality standards, and ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools to ensure production accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating brake presses or metal fabrication preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Adherence to safety protocols in manufacturing.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate brake press machines according to job specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production drawings.
• Ensure proper alignment and positioning of metal parts before bending or forming.
