Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood in Grand Prairie, TX is hiring Box Scalers to weigh and label beef, pork, lamb, veal and seafood for stock or customer orders.

You will follow standard pack specs, read customer instructions, perform quality checks and assist teammates. Starting pay is $20/hr; schedule Sun–Fri 9:30am–7:30pm.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Solves routine problems of limited scope following established policies.
• Must perceive auditory safety signals in warehouse operations.
• Must have working knowledge of production equipment.
• Understand and follow Food Safety and Occupational Safety Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Weighs and labels boxes and packages accurately and promptly.
• Follows standard pack specs and customer deviations via work orders.
• Reads and understands customer special instructions.
• Performs quality checks and communicates defects to supervisors.
• Inspects meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes.
• Offers assistance to other team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
