Job summary

Pittston Co-Packers is seeking a Quality Technician to inspect and test beverage products, ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards. You will monitor in-process production, conduct routine quality checks, and maintain meticulous documentation to support product quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of quality assurance or production experience in food/beverage industry preferred.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow GMP, HACCP and safety protocols.
• Able to read and follow SOPs and production orders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer and data entry skills (Excel, QA systems).
• Ability to collaborate with operators and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform line inspections including fill weights, torque, packaging integrity, and label placement.
• Conduct checks for pH, Brix, temperature, and visual defects.
• Monitor cleaning and sanitation effectiveness as part of environmental quality checks.
• Follow company SOPs and testing protocols with precision.
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections and tests per company SOPs.
• Report non-conformances, deviations, or product defects to QA Lead or Manager.
• Support documentation for holds, rework, or corrective actions.
• Monitor production and packaging areas to maintain quality and cleanliness standards.
• Participate in internal audits, inspections, and safety drills when required.
• Handle QA samples properly and dispose of waste in compliance with plant protocols.
• Communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally to operators and supervisors.
• Follow all company policies related to safety, food safety, and quality standards, including GMPs, PPE, and hazard reporting.
• Perform other duties to support departmental or company objectives.
