Job summary

AMETEK is seeking an assembler to perform mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-assembly work. You will follow verbal instructions and established procedures to fit and assemble parts, using simple hand tools and micrometers where needed.

Responsibilities include welding, soldering, microscope work, oil fills, and basic testing. You will train others, maintain safety standards, and may rotate among stations to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Soldering experience preferred.
• Able to read and follow assembly procedures.
• Capable of working under a microscope.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Performs assembly operations by wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, staking, or epoxying.
• Performs assembly under a microscope.
• Hand solders pins, cables, components, sub-assemblies, and completed units.
• Operates ultrasonic welding apparatus.
• Attaches ICs, transistors, resistors, or thermistors to PC boards.
• Performs oil fill operations and conducts tests for final units.
• Supports life testing programs using a computer.
• Provides training to co-workers when needed.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area and safety standards.
• May rotate to other workstations and meet department targets.
