Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. (JP) in Buffalo, NY seeks an Assembler 2 (2nd Shift) to join the Amherst Systems team. The role focuses on fine-pitch soldering under a stereo microscope, assembling circuit cards, harnesses and RF components to meet stringent specs.

The candidate will use diagrams and work instructions, perform quality checks, and may disassemble and rework assemblies. IPC-610/J-STD 001 certs preferred, US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED with 2 years of assembly or electronic experience, or an Associate degree in electronics/technical discipline.
• Soldering experience required.
• Experience in manufacturing/assembly in a metric-based environment.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to move objects up to 10 pounds.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Solder under a stereo zoom microscope for fine pitch assemblies and small RF components.
• Interpret diagrams, drawings and work instructions to meet customer requirements.
• Perform continuity checks on in-process and finished work; conduct quality inspections.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble and test assemblies and subassemblies as needed.
• Complete in-house workmanship criteria training; work in various Manufacturing areas as needed.
