Job summary

Northrop Grumman Amherst Systems in Buffalo, NY is seeking an assembler to join a state-of-the-art electronics assembly cell. You will build electronic components and assemblies per drawings and instructions, using tools and equipment in a clean, safe environment.

The role involves soldering, inspection, data recording and collaboration with engineers and technicians. Prior IPC-610 or J-STD 001 certs are preferred; high school diploma required; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
• U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
• IPC-610 and/or J-STD 001 certifications preferred.
• Electronics assembly experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components using assembly drawings and job aids.
• Perform fine-pitch soldering, BGA rework and repair as needed.
• Assemble microelectronics and electromechanical components.
• Conduct continuity checks on in-process and completed work.
• Operate basic production equipment (soldering stations, crimps, microscopes).
• Inspect work for workmanship and compliance with documentation; perform rework as needed.
• Record production data in travelers and shop floor systems.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers and supervisors to clarify build instructions.
• Maintain safe and clean work area following all guidelines.
• Complete in-house workmanship training as required.
