Job summary

Veeco’s Somerset manufacturing team seeks an Assembler to build and verify complex tooling and assemblies that support deposition, laser, and advanced packaging platforms. You will interpret blueprints, follow detailed documentation, and collaborate across teams to ensure on-time delivery of ready-to-integrate equipment.

The role requires hands-on assembly experience, use of calibrated measuring tools, and a strong quality mindset.

Qualifications

• Read assembly docs, schematics, and diagrams to build assemblies.
• Experience with calibrated tools and measurement devices.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, especially SAP.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and job flexibility for overtime.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical and electromechanical assemblies per specs.
• Interpret blueprints and process instructions for accurate builds.
• Own tool build lifecycle from materials to final assembly.
• Coordinate with team and delegate tasks to maintain efficiency.
• Use calibrated tools and verify torque values and calibrations.
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and verniers for tolerances.
• Drill, tap, ream, and finish holes; file parts for fit.
• Route cables per standards and safety requirements.
• Install plumbing and gas lines per procedures.
• Disassemble units for part replacement and shipping.
• Identify non-conforming parts and work with QA to resolve.
• Safely lift large components and comply with safety protocols.
• Diagnose assembly issues and take corrective action.
