Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technician (Spector) in Somerset, NJ area to build and test subsystems for advanced AI data center chips.

You will work with Engineering to troubleshoot, prepare, assemble, and inspect components through the full assembly process, from inventory prep to final testing. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of hands-on electromechanical experience, familiarity with high-vacuum hardware, and strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years hands-on experience building, testing, and troubleshooting electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, schematics and other drawings to assemble complex assemblies.
• Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to meet specs.
• Assemble parts and align, fasten, and connect to subassemblies.
• Position and adjust parts for proper fit; connect cables and wiring.
• Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and verniers.
• Drill, tap, ream, countersink and spot-face bolt holes.
• Operate automated assembling equipment and small cranes.
• Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate quality or performance.
• Monitor gauges and indicators to ensure proper machine operation.
• Troubleshoot and determine causes of operating errors and corrective actions.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment.
