Prairieland FS, Inc. is seeking a Crop Specialist to advise customers on crop selection, planting schedules, and cultivation techniques to maximize yield and quality.

You will conduct soil analyses, recommend fertilizers, and implement IPM strategies while promoting sustainable farming and data-driven insights from precision ag tools. You will perform on-site visits and training to ensure adoption of best practices in agronomy, working closely with customers and leveraging agronomy software and

Qualifications

• Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field.
• CDL with required endorsements (e.g., HazMat, Tanker) within six months and clean driving record.
• Pesticide licenses within the first six months.
• Professional certifications such as CCA, CCS, CPA.
• In-depth knowledge of crop physiology, soil science, pest control, and nutrient management.
• Experience with agricultural technology and precision farming tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and agronomy software.
• Basic understanding of agronomic principles and practices.
• Experience in fieldwork and data collection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on crop selection, planting schedules, and cultivation techniques.
• Conduct soil testing and analysis to determine nutrient deficiencies and recommend fertilizers or amendments.
• Monitor crops for pests, diseases, and weeds; recommend IPM strategies with chemical and biological treatments.
• Advise on sustainable farming techniques including precision agriculture, crop rotation, and water conservation.
• Stay current on advancements in agronomy and share findings to improve farming outcomes.
• Utilize precision agriculture tools and satellite imaging to provide data-driven insights.
• Conduct on-site visits, training sessions, and workshops to ensure adoption of best practices.
