Job summary

Prairieland FS, Inc. is seeking a Crop Specialist to advise agricultural customers on crop production, soil health, and yield optimization.

You will work with clients to implement best practices in agronomy, fertilization, pest control, irrigation, and seed selection, leveraging your knowledge of crop science and precision farming tools. The role includes on-site visits, conducting soil tests, providing data-driven recommendations, and delivering training sessions to ensure adoption of best

Qualifications

Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field.
Obtain CDL with HazMat/Tanker endorsements within six months and maintain clean driving record.
Must obtain and maintain agronomy certifications (CCA/CCS/CPA/Commercial Applicator).
In-depth knowledge of crop physiology, soil science, pest control, and nutrient management.
Experience with agricultural technology and precision farming tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and agronomy software.

Responsibilities

Provide expert advice on crop selection, planting schedules, and cultivation techniques to maximize yield and improve crop quality.
Conduct soil testing and analysis to determine nutrient deficiencies and recommend fertilizers or soil amendments.
Monitor crops for pests, diseases, and weeds; advise on IPM strategies including chemical/biological treatments.
Advise on sustainable farming techniques, including precision agriculture and water conservation.
Stay current on advancements in agronomy and share findings with customers to improve farming outcomes.
Utilize precision agriculture tools and satellite imaging to provide data-driven insights for crop production.
Conduct on-site visits, training sessions, and workshops for customers.
