Smith Brothers Tool Company in Michigan is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, adjust, and operate 3- and 5-axis milling machines. You will read blueprints and engineering drawings to meet precise specifications and input offsets, editing programs at the machine controller.

The role requires 3+ years of CNC milling experience, proficiency with Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or similar controls, and knowledge of G-code/M-code.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC milling experience with 3-axis or 5-axis machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and work to tight tolerances.
• Strong shop math skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Fanuc, Fidia C20, Siemens, Haas, or similar CNC controls.
• CNC programming knowledge (G-code, M-code).

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC milling machines independently (3-axis or 5-axis).
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to meet precise specifications.
• Input offsets, edit programs, and make adjustments at the machine controller as needed.
• Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) to verify part dimensions in-process.
• Perform equipment troubleshooting and basic preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
