Job summary

Shively Bros., Inc. in Wixom, MI is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist/Programmer to confidently set up, program, and operate HAAS CNC milling machines with minimal supervision.

You will read blueprints, select tooling, and use Mastercam to program and edit CNC programs, while performing in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specs. The role emphasizes precision, quality, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of 5-axis CNC machining experience.
• Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills.
• Mastercam programming experience.
• Strong machining, tooling, and blueprint-reading knowledge.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and program HAAS CNC milling machines.
• Program and edit CNC programs using Mastercam.
• Perform basic conversational programming and program edits at the machine.
• Set up and machine prototype, specialty, and small production-run parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters.
• Perform in-process inspections and verify finished parts meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues.
• Maintain accuracy, quality, and consistency throughout machining operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
