Responsibilities

Job Description:
Summary

Provides oversight of clinical course content and activities of the Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) Program, in such areas as First Responder, EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, BLS, ACLS, PALS and refresher courses as necessary.

Essential Functions
  • Provides oversight of clinical course content and activities of the Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) Program, in such areas as
  • First Responder, EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, BLS, ACLS, PALS and refresher courses as necessary
  • Schedules EMT student clinical rotations
  • Advises and counsels students on proper documentation techniques and provides feedback to students
  • Periodically meets with clinical site manager to update changes
  • Helps to develop clinical sites for the students
  • Assists in the development of policies related to the EMT program
  • Reinforces the instruction provided by faculty by utilizing a variety of learning modalities in the labs including the HPS with
  • computerized scenarios, manikins and models, equipment and supplies for demonstration and return demonstration
  • Establishes an effective record-keeping system to ensure program and students meet and maintain accreditation standards
  • Assists with student instruction in EMT skills lab as needed
  • Administers competency testing to EMT students
  • Anticipates and meets all customer needs accurately, professionally, and with a commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Maintains required BCI and up to date immunizations
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Associate’s degree
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of EMT experience in an EMT environment
  • Current State of Ohio Fire & Emergency Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from date of hire
  • Current BLS and ACLS Instructor certification within six months of hiring
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations
  • Current Ohio Paramedic Certification
  • Must successfully complete a Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) Background Check to include fingerprinting,
  • social security number trace, county record search, state search, and a check of Federal Bureau of Investigation records

  • Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
  • Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

Preferred Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience in an EMT environment
  • Minimum of one year of clinical coordination experience

Target Starting Salary Range:

$68,250.00 to $71,750.00
