Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Wasilla, Alaska seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to inspect for DOT and owner programs. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings, maintaining PCI/DOT records.

Level I inspectors report to you.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years experience in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and DOT precast specifications for the state.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Ability to maintain production quality and meet specifications under schedule pressure.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against the specification and the shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner acceptance programs; supervise Level I inspectors.
• Assign daily coverage and review inspectors' records; travel between plants as needed for owner/agency inspection.
