Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, or to perform owner and agency plant inspection for DOT and structural precast programs. Verifies prestressing operations, reviews mix designs and strength records, and accepts or rejects finished products.

Responsibilities include maintaining PCI and DOT QC records, supervising Level I inspectors, and coordinating daily coverage.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification required and current.
• 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT specs.
• ACI Strength Testing certification preferred.
• Able to enforce specs on production lines.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand cert, tensioning, elongation, detensioning, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products per specs and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner programs; supervise Level I inspectors.
• Assign daily coverage and review inspectors' records.

Education

PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II (2+ years in certified precast or prestressed plant)

Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and DOT precast specifications

ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification (preferred)
