Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and act as the outside eye on owner and agency inspections. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and accept or reject finished products to maintain PCI and DOT certifications.

You will supervise Level I inspectors, allocate daily coverage, and ensure records meet PCI and DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Able to maintain production-line to specification when schedule is tight.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand cert, tensioning, elongation, detensioning, transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products per spec and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs; supervise Level I inspectors.
• Assign daily coverage and review inspectors' records.
