Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Pre-Transplant Coordinator RN to coordinate referral, evaluation, waiting period, and peri-operative phases of transplantation. The role collaborates with an interprofessional team to ensure compassionate, efficient care and optimal outcomes.

Required are a Bachelor’s in Nursing, Texas RN license (PSV compact noted), BLS, and 4 years nursing experience or 3 years Oncology/BMT experience. Excellent communication and patient advocacy are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Four years of nursing experience or three years of Oncology/BMT experience for the area.
• RN license in Texas with PSV Compact license requirements and BLS certification.
• Strong communication and patient advocacy in a fast-paced transplant setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates the transplant referral, evaluation, waiting period, and peri-operative phases.
• Collaborates with the interprofessional transplant team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Communicates patient status, educates patients and families, and participates in department initiatives.
• Maintains knowledge of transplant policies and regulatory requirements; supports donor education and process.
