Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Pre-Transplant Coordinator, a registered nurse responsible for coordinating all aspects of the transplant referral, evaluation, waiting period, and peri-operative phases. You will work with the interprofessional transplant team to ensure coordination of care for pre-transplant patients and advocate for patient rights.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas with permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing residency)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
• Four years nursing experience or three years Oncology/BMT-specific experience for area of specialty

Responsibilities

• Coordinate evaluation, waiting, and peri-operative phases of transplantation with the transplant team
• Educate patients and families about listing, waitlist process, and donor options
• Communicate candidate status and evaluation outcomes to the transplant team and referring physicians
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of evaluation and listing progress and ensure timely follow-up
