Stony Brook University Hospital seeks a Nursing Assistant I/II for the Pre Surgical Admissions unit. This full-time day-shift role involves direct patient care, charting, and assisting with daily living activities in a hospital setting.

You will work under RN supervision, communicate with patients and families, and help ensure a clean and safe clinical environment. Previous patient-care experience and NYS CNA credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of satisfactory full-time experience in the provision of simple treatment and other patient care services under professional supervision.
• Preferred: NYS CNA license or certification from an approved certified nursing aide training program, plus one year of patient care experience and a High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilités

• Change simple dressings as directed, give enemas, douches, and irrigations as directed.
• Chart and document care and/or behaviors as required.
• Take temperatures, pulse rates, blood pressure and respiration rate.
• Attend to daily living activities and personal needs to maintain a conducive care environment.
• Feed persons requiring assistance to ensure proper nourishment.
• Bathe and dress, brush teeth and trim nails of persons in care.
• Maintain rights, dignity, and confidentiality of persons in care.
• May perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean clinical facility.
