Job summary

GMKE is seeking an Associate Attorney in Georgia to join our Pre-Litigation Time-Limited Demand group. You will handle fast-moving pre-suit settlements at scale, focusing on time-limited demands, tenders, and global settlements.

This role blends legal practice with settlement negotiation and strategic decision-making to protect clients and move cases efficiently. You will analyze cases, assess risk, draft strategic responses, and coordinate with insurers and claimants’ counsel while supporting

Qualifications

Active license to practice law in Georgia.
Experience with insurance defense, claims handling, or civil litigation preferred, with exposure to pre-suit settlements.

Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and triage incoming settlement demands under OCGA 9-11-67.1.
Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with updates and case law interpretations.
Draft and send timely demand responses.
Communicate with insurance adjusters and claimants' counsel.
Monitor deadlines and ensure timely responses, follow-ups, and approvals.
Follow up on releases and settlement docs to facilitate case closure.
Collaborate with support staff to complete tasks efficiently.
Stay updated on legislative changes affecting settlements.
