Job summary

The Law Collective in Los Angeles seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney to oversee the negotiation phase from claim opening to settlement, supervising Case Managers and negotiating with insurers to secure favorable client outcomes. When needed, you will hand off cases to litigation.

JD active license required; bilingual Spanish/English preferred. You will manage a high caseload, assess liability and insurance coverage, and guide the team toward efficient resolutions.

Qualifications

• JD licensed to practice law and in good standing.
• Approximately 3 years of experience in litigation or pre-litigation (personal injury).
• Experience negotiating directly with insurance carriers/adjusters.
• Ability to manage a high caseload simultaneously.
• Leadership experience supervising a Case Manager team.
• Bilingual Spanish/English (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a caseload in the pre-litigation phase, supported by assigned Case Managers.
• Review and approve Case Managers' work (demand letters, medical records, liability documentation).
• Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters and/or attorneys to reach favorable settlements for clients.
• Assess the legal viability and value of each case (liability, injuries, insurance coverage).
• Determine when a case should evolve to the litigation team.
• Meet with clients when needed to resolve complex legal matters.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and direction to the Case Manager team.
