Job summary

ScanSource, Inc. is seeking a Technical Sales Support specialist to provide pre-sales technical assistance by phone, email and web. You will gather customer needs, guide requests to resolution, and log interactions in our case system.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in tech product support, experience with Networking or Physical Security, strong English communication, and a willingness to learn. Travel up to 5% and comprehensive benefits accompany base salary.

Qualifications

• Experience with Networking or Physical Security technologies.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in providing support of technology products.
• Customer service experience, both in person and over the phone.
• Ability to speak English plainly and to be easily understood over the phone.
• Ability to understand spoken English, both technical and colloquial.
• Ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, and e-mail requests for assistance from users seeking information about hardware and software from specified technologies; interviews user to collect information about needs and guides user to completion of request; logs and tracks calls using case management database, and maintains history records.
• First point of contact for pre-sale technical questions/inquiries.
• Training internal and external customers on technology and suppliers which may include demonstrations, lectures, or one on one engagements.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of the Technical Sales Support position.
• Other duties as assigned.
