Job summary

Mercy is seeking an RN to employ the nursing process to deliver patient care, ensure confidentiality, and assess care effectiveness. The role coordinates patient care with other departments and upholds patient rights in alignment with Mercy standards.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license (IL or compact), have a nursing degree (AD, diploma, or BSN), and possess or obtain BLS within 30 days, with various unit-specific certifications leveraged as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe: ACLS/ALS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, BLS, PALS, PEARS, STABLE, C-EFM, Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
