Job summary

Berkshire Eye Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Pre/Post Op Registered Nurse to provide continuity of high-quality nursing care for patients before discharge after general anesthesia or sedation.

The role ensures patient safety, comfort, and privacy, and may assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques, delivering total care from admission through discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with ongoing evaluations.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout care.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques.
• Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
