Job summary

Berkshire Eye Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Pre/Post Op Registered Nurse to provide consistent, high-quality care for patients before and after surgery. The role involves monitoring patients under anesthesia or sedation and assisting physicians in the operating room while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited RN program, active state RN license, BLS/ACLS, plus PALS if required.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2+ years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment; prioritize workload.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of condition.
• Support physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Deliver comprehensive patient care from anesthesia emergence to discharge planning and patient/family teaching.

Pre/Post Op Registered Nurse at Berkshire Eye Surgery Center

The Pre/Post Op Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
