Job summary

Wellness Avenue Surgery Center is hiring a Full Time PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with safety, comfort, and privacy at all times, and to assist physicians in the procedure rooms as needed.

The nurse will evaluate patients recovering from general anesthesia or sedation, participate in discharge planning, and perform duties with sterile technique and conscious sedation support when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• 1+ years of experience working as an Endoscopy RN required.
• Current American Heart BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
• Assist physicians in the procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
