Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Nursing Assistant for M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. The role covers 64 hours over two weeks on Day/Evening shifts with a weekend rotation.

You will support licensed staff in patient care, assist with ADLs, transport supplies, and help maintain rooms while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification required; OnTrack participants must obtain BLS upon completion of OnTrack program.
• Completion of Fairview OnTrack Nursing Assistant training or Fairview-sponsored NA program preferred.
• Six months of direct care experience in long-term, home care, or acute care settings qualifies.
• Current enrollment in LPN/RN/NP program with clinical rotation completed.
• Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification at hire (not required to maintain).

Responsibilities

• Assist professional nurse with patient care and transport.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms; stock supplies.
• Document tasks accurately and timely.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Take weights, vital signs, and monitor patient condition.
• Support patient safety and comfort, including ADLs and routine care.

Education

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or Fairview-sponsored NAs program

Six months of direct care experience in healthcare setting

Enrollment in LPN/RN/Nurse Practitioner program

Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification
