Fairview Health Services is hiring a Nursing Assistant at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. The role features 12-hour day shifts, totaling 60 hours every two weeks, with every third weekend, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, PTO and more.

The Nursing Assistant will support the care team in a 30-bed General Surgery unit with telemetry, assisting with admissions, patient care, and routine tasks while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required; must be able to obtain BLS upon completion of OnTrack program.
• OnTrack Nursing Assistant training or Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program or equivalent.
• Six months of direct care experience in long term, home care, or acute care setting.
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or NP program with one semester of clinical rotation completed.
• Current MN Nursing Assistant Registry certification on hire (not required if transferring later).

Responsabilités

• Assist professional nurse in patient care and transport. Set up and maintain patient rooms and stock supplies.
• Provide basic patient care: grooming, feeding, hygiene, skin care, oral hygiene, position/ambulation, linen changes, and call-light response.
• Monitor patient condition, record vital signs, and report any changes to the RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge; orient patient and family; ensure belongings are accounted for.
• Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies; ensure timely arrival to appointments.
• Document tasks on appropriate forms and perform other duties as needed.
