Job summary

Cook Children’s Pediatric Surgery Center is seeking a Pre-op/Stepdown Nurse to provide comprehensive perioperative care in an Ambulatory Surgical Center setting. The nurse will advocate for patients, coordinate with the care team, and ensure smooth transitions before and after procedures.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, a current Texas RN license, CPR and PALS, and at least one year of pre-/intra-/post-operative experience. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state RN license.
• CPR and PALS certification required.
• Minimum one year of pre-, intra-, and post-operative surgical patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in nursing care for ambulatory surgical center patients.

JOB TITLE: Pre-op/ Stepdown Nurse

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Assists in provision of nursing care to patients in an Ambulatory Surgical Center setting. Assumes total responsibility for patient care in accordance with physician's orders and centers policies. To act as patient advocate, providing continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals. The Nurse will assess the perioperative needs of individual patients including but not limited to adult, pediatric, neonatal and adolescent patients and geriatric patients.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; current state RN License.
• CPR required.
• PALS required.
• Minimum one year in pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative surgical patient care
