Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking an RN Staff - Pre-Op (Per Diem) to join our perioperative team. The role involves 8- or 12-hour shifts (5A-5P or 5A-2P) with two call shifts every six weeks and a holiday rotation.

You will supervise Unit Assistants and deliver patient care using the nursing process, maintaining standards of practice and patient safety in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN accredited school of nursing.
• Current LA RN Licensure.
• BLS certification through ILCOR courses (e.g., AHA, Red Cross).
• ALS/PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Two years current strong medical-surgical, critical care or same day surgery experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame and provide care via nursing process and healthcare team.
• Supervises Unit Assistants and supports team workflow.
