Job summary

Medical City Frisco is seeking a Pre-Op Registered Nurse for Outpatient Services. The role involves evaluating patients before surgery, educating families, and preparing patients with IV therapy and preoperative medications.

You will participate in site verification, follow universal protocols, and respond to emergencies within a dynamic surgical team. Ideal candidates hold an RN license with a BSN and have 1+ years of pre-op and CC experience; ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications must be obtained

Qualifications

• RN license and BSN are required or preferred as stated in the posting.
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications must be obtained within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies; deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment and follow-up steps.
