Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and valid Louisiana RN license.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; strong patient care and teamwork.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment with strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough medical history, obtain medication history, and give preoperative instructions while documenting in the EMR.
• Follow orders and anesthesia guidelines; communicate changes to surgeon/anesthesiologist.
• Coordinate preoperative patient care and supervise unit staff.
• Develop daily patient assignments, monitor the surgery schedule, and ensure quality nursing care.
• Promote hospital mission and maintain patient confidentiality; teamwork across departments.
