Job summary

DOCTORS OUTPATIENT SURGERY CENTER in Lafayette, LA seeks a dedicated RN to join the Pre-Op / PACU team. You will guide patients through pre-op and post-op care, monitor anesthesia recovery, and collaborate with physicians and families to ensure safe, informed care.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and a healthy work-life balance in a fast-paced outpatient environment. BLS/ACLS required, with 1+ year PACU/pre-op experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 1+ year PACU/pre-op/perioperative experience.
• PALS and/or CNOR certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients.
• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia; document vital signs and status.
• Obtain and document complete nursing histories and assessments.
• Administer medications safely and accurately.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and care team members.
• Supervise and support non-licensed clinical staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in medical records.
• Follow nursing standards, state regulations, and center policies.
