Job summary

AVALA in Covington, LA seeks an OR circulator to monitor procedures and act as liaison between the operating room staff and the hospital. You will verify patient data, allergies, NPO status, and gather supplies while maintaining aseptic technique and participating in Time Out.

You will also assess patient needs, review medical history, document in EMR, and support OR turnover and safety from prep to post-op care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state RN licensure in Louisiana.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitors surgical procedures in the OR and assists by coordinating between OR staff and hospital personnel.
• Performs patient identification checks, NPO verification, allergy checks, and procedure verification.
• Prepares supplies, maintains aseptic technique, and supports Time Out and patient turnover.
• Documents accurately on OR and implant records and supports care planning.
• Ensures patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning throughout transport and surgery.
