Job summary

AMSURG Corp. seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive pre-operative care for patients undergoing endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy. The role includes history taking, consent verification, pre-medication administration and IV placement, with careful patient preparation.

You will monitor vital signs, support recovery from anesthesia, ensure safety and privacy, document care, and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure smooth, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or state-approved RN program.
• License to practice as an RN in the state (MD state preferred/required).
• Experience with pre-operative assessment and endoscopy procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the pre-procedure area and patient according to policy.
• Administer medications per physician orders and monitor responses.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and safety throughout the pre-op process.
• Document care and communication with the health care team; monitor patient condition.
