Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Pre-Op / Phase II Recovery / Same Day Surgical Services department. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a surgical environment.

We are an amazing team that supports each other and values patient care as meaningful work. You will assess and plan patient care, instruct patients about medications, maintain records, and administer medications per physician orders.

Qualifications

• Florida Registered Nurse license or appropriate compact license; active FL RN within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS required after 6 months of hire.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence and communication skills; ability to read and follow instructions; PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of Pre-Op and Phase II Recovery patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
