HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Op / Phase II Recovery / Same Day Surgical Services team. Deliver high-quality surgical care, educate patients and families, and maintain precise records in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes clinical expertise, collaboration with the team, and dedication to patient outcomes. Florida RN licensure, BLS, and acute care experience are essential; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Florida Registered Nurse licensure required; compact licensure acceptable with active FL RN within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certification preferred.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and strong interpersonal communication; PC skills.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Op / Phase II Recovery / Same Day Surgical Services Department. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a surgical environment. What you will do in this role

• You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of Pre-Op and Phase II Recovery patients.
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

What qualifications you will need

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
