Job summary

University Surgery Center is seeking a Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse to deliver continuous, high-quality perioperative care. The role involves monitoring patients emerging from anesthesia, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring safety and comfort throughout the recovery process.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited RN degree, an active California RN license, and BLS/ACLS (PALS if required). Prior PACU/CC experience is preferred, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in California.
• Current BLS, ACLS; PALS if required.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make nursing judgments.
• Strong organization and workload prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care after anesthesia.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with sedation and sterile technique.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy; prepare for discharge.

University Surgery Center is hiring a Pre Op/PACU RN

Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing

• Active RN license in the state

• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center

• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred

• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment

• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit

• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Rate range: $36.22 to $45.28 per hour. Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.

Required Skills

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and hold a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of CA. Current American Heart BLS certification and experience working as a circulator required. BSN preferred.
