Job summary

Kansas Spine & Specialty in Wichita, KS is seeking a Pre/Post-Operative Registered Nurse (RN) to admit patients, provide comprehensive pre-operative care, deliver immediate post-operative care, and facilitate safe transfers to inpatient units or home.

The role requires a valid Kansas RN license, BLS, ACLS within 60 days, and perioperative experience. You will work under protocols, document care, educate patients and families, and support a collaborative surgical team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or diploma in nursing; BSN preferred.
• Valid RN license in Kansas.
• BCLS required with ACLS within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year perioperative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care under established protocols and provider orders.
• Assess and document patient status preop and postop; ensure privacy and confidentiality.
• Coordinate preoperative testing and report abnormalities to the provider.
• Educate patient and family on perioperative care and expectations.
• Maintain accurate medical records and discharge planning.
• Support team communication and maintain department safety and readiness.
