Job summary

KU MedWest Ambulatory Surgery Center, LLC in Olathe, KS seeks a Registered Nurse PreOp - PACU to join the perioperative team.

The nurse will assess and prepare patients for surgery, monitor during the perioperative period, manage pain, provide education, and ensure safe discharge planning.

Candidates should have RN licensure in good standing, BLS (and ACLS/PALS), and at least one year of PreOp/PACU or medical/surgical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• One year of PreOp, PACU, or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standing.
• BLS/BCLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment.
• PALS certification required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for surgery.
• Assess patient status throughout the perioperative episode of care.
• Develop and implement an individualized perioperative plan of care.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia – Moderate sedation and monitored anesthesia care.
• Assess patient status at intervals per facility policies and procedures.
• Provide nursing care and monitoring in accordance with policies.
